Your responsibilities would include (but are not limited to): 

  • Assist the Asset Performance Manager in the delivery of the client’s major projects including:
  • Assist in the scoping and initiation of major projects as required by the business including working with the wider team and stakeholders to agree deliverables.
  • Assist in the management of any associated contracts with third party service providers, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Identify project team requirements to ensure they are completed to time and agreed budgets.
  • Assist in ensuring that all project risks are properly identified, understood, catalogued and mitigated.
  • Monitor the contractor’s performance against agreed project milestones and provide verification to the Asset Performance Manager that work claimed on invoices has been undertaken and is in line with the contract.
  • Assist in the management of any contractual disputes, should that arise.
  • Major change projects are any significant asset focussed projects required to meet the needs of the business.
  • Assist in the review the of the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) maintenance strategy, particularly in respect of long-term cable containment, and formulate a strategy to replace components which may degrade over time.
  • From time to time the role may be required to support the Asset Reliability Managers team in the real-time operation of the client’s. 
  • May be asked to be a member of the client’s ‘On-call Team’ which provides 24/7 remote and on-site response on a rota basis to manage operational issues on the interconnector.       

You will need to have the following experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role at an interconnector, windfarm, transmission system operator or power generator. 
  • Experience of preparing contract documents and monitoring contractors.
  • Experience with contract negotiating.
  • Project Management experience - Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 and/or significant experience of working on similar projects.
  • Confident speaking to stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements for HVDC interconnectors or systems.
  • Good understanding of the importance of HVDC interconnectors in the wider energy mix.
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering or other relevant qualification and/or work experience.
