On behalf of our client in the petroleum business we are looking to recruit a Data Analyst. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, visualisation, and database management, with proficiency in Tableau with an expertise in SQL. This is a Hybrid role, 4 days in the office and 1 day at home.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyse, and interpret data from various sources to provide insights and support decision-making processes within the petroleum business.
- Design and develop visually appealing and informative dashboards using Tableau to present key metrics and trends relevant to the business.
- Utilise SQL to create and optimize queries for extracting, transforming, and manipulating data from databases.
- Perform in-depth mathematical analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in the data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights and data-driven solutions.
- Conduct regular data quality assessments and ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the analysis process.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualisation techniques.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports as needed to support various business initiatives and projects.
- Act as a subject matter expert on data-related matters and provide guidance and support to junior team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the retail sector and/or loyalty schemes.
- Proficiency in Tableau for creating dynamic and interactive dashboards.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in writing complex queries for data extraction and manipulation.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse large datasets.
- Familiarity with database management systems and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with data visualization best practices and techniques.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
