Equity Derivatives Operations Associate

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Equity Derivatives Operations Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our equity derivatives trading operations, ensuring smooth and efficient execution, settlement, and reconciliation processes. This will suit someone who is keen to develop into a Front Office Sales / Execution Trader in the future.
1. Execute equity derivatives trades accurately and timely on behalf of clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
2. Confirm trade details with counterparties and ensure accuracy of trade confirmations.
3. Manage the settlement process for equity derivatives trades, including reconciling trade details, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely settlement.
4. Monitor and manage collateral requirements for equity derivatives transactions, ensuring sufficient collateral is available to meet margin requirements.
5. Assist in monitoring and managing operational risks associated with equity derivatives trading activities, implementing controls and procedures to mitigate risks.
6. Provide support to clients regarding trade inquiries, settlement issues, and other operational matters related to equity derivatives trading.
7. Stay updated on regulatory developments and ensure compliance with relevant regulations governing equity derivatives trading operations.
8. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in equity derivatives operations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement enhancements.
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
5 plus years of experience in equity derivatives operations or a similar role within the financial services industry.
Strong understanding of equity derivatives products, including futures, options, and swaps.
Proficiency in trade execution and settlement processes, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing equity derivatives trading operations, such as EMIR and MiFID II, is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications used in operations.
