Senior Data Analyst - Marketing

On behalf of our client a commodity trading business, we are looking for a dynamic Senior Data Analyst with a specialization in marketing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong IT skillset with a profound proficiency in Microsoft tools (Office365, Dynamics, Power BI, and Power Automate). This role is essential for providing advanced data transformation support, developing APIs, and effectively managing and interpreting data from our various Group businesses and marketing channels.

The role will be integral in leveraging data to drive marketing strategies, with a focus on SEO optimization and website analytics. Ultimately this role will be pivotal in addressing and resolving both current and future data challenges across the organization and capitalizing the use of Artificial Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis:
  • Leverage Microsoft and other analytics tools to create meaningful reports and dashboards.
  • Provide actionable insights through advanced data analysis techniques.
  • Regularly track and report on the metrics and analytics to senior management.
  • Analyse data from digital marketing campaigns, including PPC, SEO, email marketing, and social media.
  • Utilise Power BI to develop insights into customer behaviour, campaign performance, and website traffic.
  • Use and develop the use of Ai technologies to aid in data analysis


  • SEO and Website Analytics:
  • Monitor and analyse website performance metrics, such as bounce rates, traffic flow, and conversion rates.
  • Use Google Analytics and other web analytics tools to report on SEO results and opportunities.

  • Data Transformation & API Development:
  • Employ Microsoft Dynamics and Power Automate to streamline data workflows related to marketing activities.
  • Develop and maintain APIs for integrating various marketing tools and platforms.
  • Ensure robust data integration across digital marketing tools and CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with various business teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
  • Manage analytics data stores, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
  • Manage projects related to data analysis.
  • Train and support business users on data-related practices and tools.

  • Reporting & Insight Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data-related challenges.
  • Create comprehensive dashboards and regular reports that provide insights into market trends, effectiveness of marketing strategies, and ROI.
  • Present data-driven insights and strategies to stakeholders and senior management for decision making.
  • Manage data stores with a focus on optimization and effectiveness of marketing data.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office365, Dynamics, Power BI, and Power Automate.
  • Strong understanding of SEO practices and experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge in website design principles and tools to analyse user interaction.
  • Strong experience in API development, data transformation, and integration of marketing data.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as SQL, and/or Python is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various Group entities and departments.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience in Google Analytics and/or other SEO and marketing platforms.
  • Experience in data-driven digital marketing or e-commerce environments.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.
  • Experience in cloud computing environments, particularly Azure, is desirable.
  • Certification in Microsoft tools or relevant fields is advantageous.
