Manager - Regional Sales & Marketing (Nickel - Europe)
Job Description
This role will support our Nickel business.
Support the execution of the regional sales strategy for Europe and North America including the maximizing the value chain from mines to customers for equity products including developing opportunities to provide material solution to stakeholders. This role will support our business in and creating new customer sales and marketing opportunities with a view to maximising the sustainable value of the regional sales book within risk and governance policies.
Provide key insights into local and regional markets, suppliers, customers and competitors across the sales and trading book.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement the near to medium term sales strategy for the region. Support the Marketing & Sales Director in the development of the global sales strategy in the near to medium term. Support Marketing & Sales Director in the creation of the global near to medium term sales targets and plans.
Sales Performance
Deliver the budgeted sales volume, netback performance / P&L, and working capital targets for the region. Optimize value of the sales book throughout the customer negotiation process. Understand customer specific value-in-use of various nickel products and customer trade-offs to create customer-specific sales / marketing solutions
Contract Execution
Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts and develop long term relationships with key customers. Work closely with the sales operations team, to oversee the sales execution process and ensure excellent service delivery and quick resolution of customer queries. Address and resolve any customer complaints / service shortfalls.
Business Development
Develop new customers and opportunities for sales. Identify and / or implement new commercial opportunities (e.g. logistics optimization, third party sourcing) through internal and external working relationships and interactions beyond immediate team
Compliance
Adherence to all Marketing policies and procedures, as well as observing proper standards of conduct relating to the role. Comply with Security and Operating Standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in material science / metallurgy / engineering disciplines OR Advanced university qualifications, preferably in metallurgy, material science, and engineering At least 5 years marketing / trading experience on Nickel and/or related products targeting the stainless and specialty steel segment Comprehensive knowledge around industry trends and developments in the relevant markets (nickel, molybdenum, chrome, stainless steel etc.) Knowledge of nickel and stainless steel processing technologies Good collaborative sprit Good interpersonal skills targeting both internal and external stakeholders Good communication skills
