We are a well-capitalised energy trading firm based in Dubai with an active presence across global oil derivatives markets. We trade systematically and discretionarily across paper energy products and provides liquidity across key fuel oil benchmarks.
Role Overview
The Fuel Oil Paper Trader will focus exclusively on paper fuel oil markets, providing pricing and liquidity across swaps, futures, and related derivatives. This is a front-office trading role with direct P&L responsibility, operating within defined risk limits and focused on consistent market-making performance.
This role does not require any physical fuel oil trading experience.
Key Responsibilities

Market-make and trade fuel oil paper products (HSFO, VLSFO, LSFO)

Trade swaps, futures, cracks, and differentials (e.g. Singapore, Med, NWE)

Provide continuous bids and offers to brokers and counterparties

Manage intraday and overnight risk within agreed limits

Identify relative value, spread, and arbitrage opportunities

Monitor market flows, positioning, and macro drivers impacting fuel oil

Work closely with risk and middle office to ensure accurate P&L and reporting
Requirements

3–5 years’ experience trading or market-making fuel oil paper products

Strong understanding of fuel oil derivatives, spreads, and market structure

Proven ability to manage risk and run positions independently

Experience trading via brokers and electronic platforms

Solid quantitative and analytical skillset

Disciplined, detail-oriented approach to risk management
Preferred Profile

Currently trading fuel oil derivatives at a trading house, bank, hedge fund, or energy-focused fund

Experience with Singapore, European, or Middle East fuel oil benchmarks

Comfortable operating in a high-volume, fast-paced trading environment
