Key Responsibilities
• Own the end‑to‑end daily and monthly P&L production for physical oil trading books, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery.
• Perform detailed P&L attribution, explaining key drivers such as market movements, optionality, logistics, and execution impacts.
• Oversee valuation methodologies, including mark‑to‑market, forward curves, pricing models, and derivatives hedging alignment.
• Reconcile physical stock movements across tanks, barges, vessels, and pipelines, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and exposure reporting.
• Strengthen product control processes, controls, and systems, identifying gaps and leading improvements across trade lifecycle workflows.
• Partner with Traders, Risk, Operations, and Finance to ensure consistent reporting, challenge assumptions, and support strategic commercial decisions.
• Provide senior‑level commentary to management, including performance insights, risk sensitivities, and cost analysis.
• Support audits, regulatory requirements, and internal governance frameworks.
Experience & Skills Required
• 8–10 years’ experience in product control, market risk, or finance roles within physical oil trading or broader energy markets.
• Deep understanding of P&L reporting, valuation controls, exposure management, and derivatives hedging.
• Strong knowledge of physical oil logistics, inventory valuation, and trade lifecycle processes.
• Proven ability to challenge front‑office assumptions and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ETRM systems is highly beneficial.
• Accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are advantageous.
• Strong analytical mindset with a continuous‑improvement approach.
