As part of our continued growth in Asia, we are looking to expand our trading desk in Singapore.
We are seeking an experienced Physical LPG or Chemicals / Fertilizer Trader to join our Singapore platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating and executing profitable physical trading strategies, with full ownership of P&L across LPG and/or chemical and fertilizer markets.
This is a front-office role requiring strong commercial instincts, a well-developed counterparty network, and a deep understanding of regional and global trade flows.
Originate and execute physical trading opportunities across LPG (propane, butane) and/or chemicals and fertilizers (e.g. methanol, ammonia, urea, phosphates, etc.) Manage the full trade lifecycle including sourcing, negotiation, logistics, storage, and delivery Identify and capture arbitrage opportunities across geographies, supply chains, and product differentials Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, refiners, distributors, and end-users across Asia and globally Optimise logistics including shipping, storage, and blending where applicable Actively manage price exposure and hedge positions using derivatives where appropriate Work closely with operations, chartering, risk, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution Monitor market fundamentals, freight dynamics, and geopolitical developments impacting supply and demand Contribute to the growth and diversification of the trading book
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in physical trading, ideally within LPG, chemicals, or fertilizers Demonstrated track record of profit generation and book development Strong understanding of global and regional trade flows, logistics, and storage economics Established network of counterparties across producers, traders, and end-users Experience trading within Asian markets, with Singapore as a trading hub preferred Solid knowledge of risk management and hedging instruments Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial decision-making skills Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience across multiple product classes (energy and chemicals/fertilizers) Familiarity with key pricing benchmarks and hubs (e.g. FEI, CFR Asia, Middle East indices) Understanding of shipping and freight markets, including chartering exposure Background in engineering, finance, economics, or related disciplines
