Employment Lawyer (2–6 PQE)

London West End | Hybrid Working | Full-Time

Join a Dynamic International Financial Services Business

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Employment Lawyer (2–6 years' PQE) to join the London legal team of a leading international financial services organisation.

Based in the heart of London's West End, this role offers the chance to work at the centre of a fast-paced, globally active business, advising senior stakeholders on a broad range of complex and commercially significant employment matters across multiple jurisdictions.

This is a highly visible position with genuine responsibility from day one. You will work closely with senior management, HR leadership and legal colleagues, providing strategic and practical employment law advice in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

For lawyers looking to move in-house or further develop their in-house career, this role offers exceptional exposure, autonomy and long-term development opportunities.

The Role

As the employment law specialist within the legal team, you will advise on a wide range of employment and workforce matters, including:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment contracts, incentive arrangements and restrictive covenants.

  • Advising on senior hires, exits, restructurings, redundancies and performance management processes.

  • Managing employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary proceedings and whistleblowing issues.

  • Leading contentious employment matters, including ACAS conciliation and Employment Tribunal claims, working alongside external counsel where appropriate.

  • Advising on business protection, confidentiality and post-termination restrictions.

  • Supporting corporate transactions and strategic business initiatives from an employment law perspective.

  • Developing and updating HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks.

  • Advising on regulatory, conduct and risk-related employment matters relevant to a regulated business environment.

  • Collaborating with international stakeholders on cross-border employment issues.

  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and implementing practical, compliant solutions across the business.

In addition to employment law matters, you will have the opportunity to support the wider legal team on a variety of commercial and business-as-usual legal work, reflecting the breadth and variety of a modern in-house legal function.

About You

You will be a commercially minded employment lawyer who enjoys partnering with the business and delivering pragmatic solutions.

We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales with 2–6 years' PQE in employment law.

  • Strong technical knowledge across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

  • Experience advising on senior executive and complex employee issues.

  • The ability to work independently and build credibility with senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills.

  • A pragmatic, commercial and solutions-focused approach.

  • The confidence to thrive in a fast-moving and entrepreneurial environment.

Experience within financial services, banking, trading or another regulated sector would be advantageous but is not essential.

What's on Offer

  • A highly visible in-house role within an international financial services business.

  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and key decision-makers.

  • A broad and varied workload covering complex and high-profile employment matters.

  • A collaborative, supportive and commercially focused legal team.

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Hybrid working arrangements.

  • Excellent long-term career progression opportunities within a growing international organisation.

All applications will be handled in the strictest confidence.
