Working closely with the Head of Compliance, you will support the delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Programme, carry out scheduled checks and help ensure findings are documented, reported and addressed. Established procedures and training will be provided for the monitoring activities.

The role

You will help assess whether day-to-day processes meet internal policies and compliance requirements, maintain accurate records and communicate findings clearly to the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing scheduled sample checks in line with the Compliance Monitoring Programme and established procedures.

  • Documenting results, identifying exceptions and following up on findings.

  • Reviewing policies and providing clear, practical comments and recommendations.

  • Updating relevant systems and retaining complete, accurate records of monitoring activity and supporting evidence.

  • Preparing management information (MI) for compliance reporting, highlighting findings, trends and outstanding actions.

  • Delivering training to the Operations team based on monitoring findings and areas requiring improvement.

  • Escalating material issues promptly to the Head of Compliance.

  • Working with colleagues across Compliance and Operations to support timely resolution of identified issues.

About you

We are looking for someone who can work methodically, communicate confidently and take ownership of assigned tasks.

You will ideally bring:

  • Experience in compliance monitoring, assurance, controls testing or a related compliance role within financial services.

  • An understanding of the payments sector; experience within a payments, fintech or electronic money business would be advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to review samples, identify discrepancies and maintain a clear audit trail.

  • Experience preparing reports or management information.

  • Clear written communication skills, including the ability to review policies and explain findings.

  • Confidence delivering practical guidance or training to operational colleagues.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to meet scheduled deadlines.

  • Sound judgement when identifying and escalating issues.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.

The opportunity

This role offers practical exposure to compliance monitoring within a payments business, working directly with the Head of Compliance. You will have established procedures and training to support your work, alongside the opportunity to contribute to improvements in operational processes and controls.
