The Art of Networking – Connecting the dots

Over the last 10 years in the recruitment Industry in London I have seen many guises and techniques as to how to win and retain clients. From hedonistic nights out to a quick coffee with a client; all to make sure they call you first when a hiring need arises.

I personally find that building long term relationships whilst making short term wins is a good balance of a client/recruiter connection.

Giving a client 1 new bit of useful information relating to their market every time you speak to them is a good way of showing credibility and effectiveness whilst displaying a solid level of market knowledge.

In any sales role a likeability factor is key and having soft skills to negotiate through the life cycle of a deal comes with a mix of natural talent and learning from those more experienced.
