As I write this a quarter of the world’s population is under lockdown. Nine out of ten children are being kept out of school and the world economy is haemorrhaging billions of dollars every day.
However there is light at the end of the tunnel. In the city of Wuhan, where the virus started, normality is returning to every day life 11 weeks after the initial lockdown started.
Over the past few days there has been an increasing call in those European countries which seem to have gone past their peak Corona Virus period to put together a plan to slowly relax the lock down rules which have been in place. This is a very delicate situation and politically very tough. Relax the rules too soon and a country could have to go through the same process again further down the line. Relax the rules too late and the economy will suffer even more harm.
In the UK it would appear and I fervently hope that we will be through the worst of the pandemic in the next week to 10 days which will most likely be the half way point of the lock down period.
Working on this basis should mean that a semblance of normality should return in early May for some parts of the population.
During this very tough period we wish you and your families the very best. The whole team at Marlin are working from home and happy to support you in any way possible.
